Pasta is one of the easiest things to make for dinner. You boil some water, you throw the pasta in and in about 10 minutes it’s ready. And if you don’t want to slave over a hot stove making the tomato sauce just grab a jar of “Ann & Tony’s Authentic Arthur Avenue Sauce” and you have a delicious quick meal.
Now, tomato sauce on it’s own is quite delicious. But, I like to spice things up and add some more incredible flavors.
I don’t like to stand over a stove all day….truthfully, I don’t like to stand over a stove at all. And I’m sure you feel the same way.
So, here are 4 very quick and easy pasta sauce recipes you can do with your own tomato sauce or with a jar of Ann & Tony’s Authentic Arthur Avenue Sauce. Either way, you’ll bring a smile to your family and friends faces when they taste what you created.
I put 1/2 cup tomato sauce into a pan and saute the ingredients together in the tomato sauce. You might have to use more for the meat sauce. You can also saute the ingredients in a little olive oil first and add them the the tomato sauce to finish. The choice is yours.
Meat Sauce
I like t use Rigatoni with this sauce.
1. Add half cup each of diced celery, carrots and onions.
2. When vegetables are soft bed 1 pound ground beef
3. Cook until just cooked through for eight minutes.
Mushroom Sauce
I like to use farfalle (bow ties) with this sauce.
1. Once onion is soft and 1 pound quartered cremini mushrooms, or any mushroom you like,
2. Add half teaspoon dried thyme and saute over medium heat until browned, about 10 minutes.
3. And 1/3 cup dry white wine and cook until evaporated.
4. Served topped with fresh parsley.
Puttanesca Sauce
I like to use linguini with this sauce.
1. Once onion is soft and 3 anchovies, 3 tablespoons capers rinsed and drained.
2. Add half cup quartered pitted Kalamata olives.
3. Add half teaspoon red pepper flakes and cook one minute crushing anchovies with spoon.
Amatriciana Sauce
I like penne with this one.
1. Once onion is soft and 4 ounces diced bacon.
2. Add 3/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes.
3. Cook until bacon is crisp, about eight minutes.
4. serve topped with one cup grated Pecorino Romano
